Barcode
A barcode is a graphic identifier that arranges multiple black bars and blanks of unequal widths in accordance with certain encoding rules to express a set of information. Commonly used barcodes include EAN barcodes for commodities, UPC universal product codes, CODE128 codes, and pharmacode barcodes.
EAN code
The EAN code is a barcode for commodities formulated by the International Article Numbering Association and is commonly used worldwide. The EAN code symbol has two versions: the standard version (EAN-13) and the shortened version (EAN-8). The standard version represents 13 digits and is also known as the EAN13 code. The shortened version represents 8 digits and is also called EAN8. The last digit of both barcodes is the check digit, which is calculated from the previous 12 or 7 digits.
UPC code
The Universal Product Code, usually referred to as the UPC code, is a kind of commodity barcode formulated by the Uniform Code Council (UCC) of the United States and is mainly used in the United States and Canada. The EAN code, developed on its basis, has developed into the most widely applicable universal barcode. The UPC-A code is a fixed-length code and can only represent 12 digits.
CODE128 code
The CODE128 code is a barcode format widely used in enterprise internal management, production processes, and logistics control systems. Due to its excellent characteristics, it is widely used in the design of management information systems. The CODE128 code is one of the most widely used barcode formats.
